10) DeSean Jackson's concussion was a lot easier to take on radio

9) Less time with the Fox color analysts is always a plus

8) It was a beautiful day outside, just perfect for, sigh, yard work

7) Gives more people the chance to rediscover the 100% Homer Joy of the Eagles' Merrill Reese covering the game on the radio

6) Spurred increased creativity from all of us bloggers, since we no longer had television to use as a crutch

5) Hearing Eagles radio with their over the top product placements ("Give that man a Tastykake!") is kind of quaint, really

4) The blackout also took out Lions-Giants, so that's kind of a win, really

3) The time away from football meant that we all had the chance to become more informed about the Pennsylvania gubernatorial race, which is exciting in its own way, really

2) Made the anticipation for the Jets late game in Denver more like a playoff game

1) Given how much money Cablevision claims Fox is charging, we must all be in line for a big refund for the cut in service
