Bad Beats Pathetic: Today In Isiah And More
After a 28-point home loss to the Sixers (!) in which the management played music to drown out boos and Fire Isiah chants, a day after an 11-point loss to these same Sixers in Philly (hey, we're definitely not the worst team in the division anymore! yay!)... this from The Master.
"The players hear so much negativity, it's important for the coaches to give them some positives..."Um, hey, Thinks With His Legally Questionable Penis? Your winning percentage as a coach with this roster, over two seasons, is 39%. As a GM, um, you created this roster. For an utterly unheard of price.
Coaching is about... getting my team feeling good about themselves.Given the previous FACTS about your record and management, why should anyone think you know anything about coaching, or general managing, or office management, or how to find your ass with both hands and a map?
But on the plus side, all that Stephon Marbury had to do to cure his whole PR problem was to have his father die; he actually was applauded tonight at the Garden. For the sake of the rest of the roster's immediate families, one has to hope that Isiah didn't notice. (Oh, who am I kidding? If Isiah tried to manage a hit, it would make the Tonya Harding Goons look like the Yakuza. And it would cost $200 million against their cap.)
As for the Sixers, owners of their first actual winning streak of the year and possibly feeling just a little bit good about themselves? Please note the attendance at that Friday night game against a rival from 80 miles away, in OK weather, was 11,975 reported, much less actual, and in a building that seats just under 21,000. You might remember when it held that many people. The year was 2000, you had Allen Iverson and a roster that made sense, and an owner that gave a damn. Not quite the way things are now, eh? Anyway, good luck on Monday night against Yao and the Rockets, who, while disappointing, are an actual NBA team.
Between these two towns, to paraphrase Churchill... never have so many paid so much for so little... and cared less.
