Top 10 indications that the Phillies have been stealing signs

In case you missed this latest kerfluffle, take a gander at the Grey Lady today. It's their take on the story coming out of Colorado this week as to how the bullpen coach was seemingly caught on tape passing signs. But beyond that, there are other troubling signs...

10) Girlish giggling in the on-deck circle

9) Multiple MVPs without steroid allegations

8) They keep going to the playoffs, mostly on the force of their offense

7) Jayson Werth keeps telling the catcher what's coming, just to mess with him

6) In recent post-game comments, Ryan Howard credited the team for giving him advance warning of when a non-fastball was coming

5) Team has been winning games, even when Roy Halladay isn't starting

4) After pranking Jonathan Broxton in back to back playoffs, decided to expand the program

3) Nelson Figueroa's 1.250 OPS can not be achieved in any other way

2) Carlos Ruiz no longer hits like a pitcher

1) It's the only possible explanation of how a first place team can employ Brad Lidge as its closer

By the time the bullpen coach relayed the info to the batter his at bat would already be over.

But how, then, sir, do you explain the giggling?

Overall these comments are a little ludicrous. They attempt to explain the Phillies success the last few seasons. If they had been stealing signs (using binoculars) all these years it would have been caught before now. It appears a new phenonemon.

Oh noes, not ludicrous! Zounds, I have been besmirched!

My thoughts race to revenge, only to be bested by the cunningness of my Anonymous adversary. Curse you, cunning Anonymous adversary!

Jamie Moyer pitches a 2 hit shutout against the Marlins.. we must be poisoning the opposing teams' water supply in the hotel, too.

I wonder if Arlen Spector will want to start an investigation into the Phillies World Series like he did for the Pats spygate!!

really? this "article" is one the headline articles on foxsports.com ? wow. this is why this site takes a backseat to espn and si.com. oh and did i mention how much of a new york bias this site has ? anything to bash philly or boston teams, takes priority on this site. And just in case you're wondering, i have no hatred for boston or philly teams as i am a west coaster, but foxsports's bias is so thinly vailed. just sayin.

It's just someone jealous about the Phils late success.

I'm not saying that they're not stealing signs, but doing that for 3 years it's impossible.

And this top 10 list? Just ridiculous...

Ah, the joy/problems when your site gets a high traffic link...

1) All of the sites mentioned (ESPN, SI) have linked to this blog in the past. Along with Deadspin, the Wall Street Journal, Slate and dozens more. So they must all suck too. Only the commenter is virtuous.

2) Once again, longtime readers of the blog, note the claim of Bias! FILTHY FILTHY BIAS I SAY! whenever someone gets their panties in a bunch. You can't write anything, about any team, without someone thinking that they've caught you in this terrible, terrible sin.

3) On the ridiculousness of the list... you do realize that you are commenting on it, and probably feverishly refreshing the comment list to see if people address you for that comment, right?

That explains why the Dodgers lost to these cheaters! I knew the Dodgers were better than the stinkin Phils!
