The Hawks and Heat Also Enjoy Drama, Though It's Not Very Dramatic
Not to look a Game Seven in the mouth, but the Hawks and Heat do know they are allowed to play a close game, don't they? Tonight in Miami, Dwayne Wade exploded for 41, Michael Beasley added 22 and 15, and the Hawks shot just 37% from the field. Josh Smith followed up his roundly criticized late blown dunk in the Game Five blowout with a 3-for-13 stink job, the visitors clearly missed the hobbled Al Horford, and the team that will lose to the Cavs next week has yet to be determined.
Miami also got a lift from surprise starting center Joel Anthony, who came in for the concussed Jermaine O'Neal and provided some nice defense. But this series has been so dominated by who's been hurt, who's been ejected, and who's just plain throwing up bricks; the teams have not played good games in each other's presence.
Game Seven will be on Sunday at 1pm, and while the series has been devoid of competitive or compelling games -- only 12 lead changes in the entire series, compared to 106 (!) with the Bulls and Celtics -- Wade on the road trying to overcome a better team doesn't suck. Count on the winning team winning by at least 25. Yawn.
