NCAA Winning Picks Week 10

After a 2 week hiatus, The Truth is back to throw some picks against the wall and see what sticks. It's been a disappointing year spotting a record of 21-20. So before Obama takes office and taxes the bejesus out of The Truth, let's make some coin! To get back to a better record we're throwing out 14 picks this week. No analysis needed. Just trust The Truth.

NCAA Winning Picks Week 7

I hope you jumped all over the winning picks last week as The Truth showcased his truthiness going 5-1. We're still yo-yoing through the season at 18-14. The road picks seem to be a sweet spot and shot probably stick to that format, but too many great games to pass up this week under that format. The Truth is bringing 8 games your way this week and one lock of the week special. Should be a great weekend for games.

Texas +7 vs. Oklahoma (in Dallas): Both teams are 5-0 heading into the Red River Rivalry. And both teams are perfect ATS this year. I like OU to win, but not by 7.

Kentucky +3 vs. South Carolina: I actually like UK as a 1 TD favorite here. I think it's actually a good thing that they didn't almost beat Bama at Bama last week. It will leave them hungry and shouldn't have a let down against the Gamecocks.

Mizzou -14 vs. Oklahoma State: What is it with the Big 12 and 5-0 teams? Two more undefeated teams that score points in bunches. Why is the spread so large? OSU is a pretender and Mizzou should expose them as such come Saturday. The line is where it should be so you'll probably see money split pretty evenly between these teams.

Georgia -12.5 vs. Tennessee: I like UGA by 2 TDs here with the Vols a dismal 1-4 ATS this year. Not only are the Vols not good this year, they just can't score. They squeaked out a win at home against Northern Illionois last week 13-9. At least with them not scoring, it cuts down on the times their band plays the God awful "Rocky Top."

Arizona State +28 vs. USC: Sanchez is banged up for the Trojans. But it shouldn't keep them from beating down on the Sun Devils. I just don't think it is 28 points worth of beat down.

Penn State -6 @ Wisconsin: Another undefeated team in Penn State who is 6-0. Not sure about this line. I like PSU by alot more. Wisconsin is 0-2 in the Big Ten. Where is the Joe Pa love? Penn State averages over 500 yards a game and gives up 250 yards.

LSU +6 @ Florida: Okay - if you want to avoid one of The Truth's picks, this is probably it. LSU is 1-2 ATS this year and 4-12 ATS against conference opponents the past 3 years. Florida is 2-0 ATS the past three years. This one is just a hunch.

LOCK OF THE WEEK

Vanderbilt -2 @ Mississippi State: Where is the love people? My Commodores are undefeated and leading the SEC East standings. This is the best sub-conference in America. They just beat Auburn for the first time since the Eisenhower administration so I get the "fluke" references. But they're playing MSU. Come on! I don't care that the Bulldogs put up a good fight against LSU last week. I'm saying Vandy by 50! Lay two units here. And no, there is no room on the Vandy Fanwagon, you haters.

NCAA Winning Picks Week 6

Wow. 1-4 last week, 1-5 when you count on the double bet. This lackluster showing brings the Truth season to 13-13 in total bets. Pretty pathetic by the Truth's standards. I'm either nailing it each week or on the receiving end. All you have to do is figure out which and you could clean up. Gotta change the mojo again so we're road tripping. 6 road teams to choose from. I'm predicting a 5-1 week.

Texas Tech -7 @ Kansas State. I'd be willing to lay up to 13 or 14 points here so it feels like a value bet. Tech scores at will and K State's D looks a little limp this year.

Kansas -11.5 @ Iowa State. Another spread that surprised me. I thought it would be around 18 or so. More value. The Jayhawks are 12-4 ATS with conference opponents the past 3 years so look for that trend to continue.

Illinois +2 @ Michigan. Yes, I'm picking against Michigan again this week. Unlike Wisconsin, Illinois has a pretty good offense and Michigan has proven over the past 2 years they can't handle an athletic QB. The Juice will be loose in Ann Arbor.

Mizzou -10.5 @ Nebraska. It's a pity both these teams can't lose. But this spread is WAY too low. I could see Mizzou as a 3 TD favority. Their offense is just that good. I'm not sure the Mizzou punter will see the field on Saturday.

Texas -13 @ CU. I'm a bit nervous about this one. Would have loved to see this spread at 10. But UT is 4-0 against the spread this year so let's hop on board.

Ohio State -1 @ Wisconsin. Beanie should be playing the entire game and Wisconsin showed last week they have some issues on offense. I should point out that Ohio State is 0-4 ATS this year. But don't you want to be there when they cover?

NCAA Winning Picks Week 5

The Truth is The Truth again after a perfect week 4. I hope you cashed in on last week's picks. We're going to ride our mojo into week 5 and make everyone some coin again. We here at FTT are givers. So hop on board and enjoy the ride. We're now 12-8 for the season after picking 5 games last week and telling you to double up on the Virginia Tech game. The Truth has another Lock of the Week double down special for you. The giving, it hurts!

Louisville -3.5 vs. UCONN. You think I'm crazy to bet against a 4-0 team? Let me share with you who UCONN has beaten this year: Hofstra, Temple (beat them in OT), Virginia (stinks) and Baylor. And you can start you weekend early by watching a game tonight that you otherwise wouldn't.

Michigan State -8.5 @ Indiana. I'm tempted to recommend the over here at 51. Both teams can put up points. But IU's lost by 3 TDs to Ball State last week leads me to believe they won't hang with MSU past the first.

Purdue +1 @ Notre Dame. Is my hatred for Notre Dame obvious? I put that aside when laying down coin though. ND is terrible. Their only wins were against even worse teams, Michigan and San Diego State. Purdue looks solid this year and barely lost to Oregon in OT. I like Purdue by a TD here, so again Vegas, thanks for the point.

Miami -7.5 vs. UNC. Miami is perfect ATS this year and kicked Texas A&M's teeth in at College Station last week. The Tar Holes aren't bad, but I don't think they hang with the Canes in Miami.

LOCK OF THE WEEK

Wisconsin -6.5 @ Michigan. What can I say. Bet against Michigan in every game where they aren't getting 14 points. They cannot move the ball. Lay 2 units on this game.

NCAA Winning Picks Week 4

It's been a tough season for my picks so far. We are struggling at 6-8. Time to turn things around. And how do you change your mojo? That's right, a road trip! So all picks this week will be on road teams. Let's make this exciting.

Vanderbilt +7 @ Ole Miss. Vandy is not only undefeated this season, but is 3-0 ATS. And they have proven the past few years to be great road dogs ATS. So we'll take the 7 points, thank you very much.

LSU -2.5 @ Auburn. Always a fantastic game. Auburn's D is fantastic but their offense just can't put points on the board. So I like LSU on the road here.

Miami -3 @ Texas A&M. Another game where I don't necessarily think the favorite is that good, I just think A&M is that bad. Tough to play at Kyle Field, but I think the Canes will over match the Aggies.

Georgia -7 @ Arizona St. Georgia has turned into this years "We don't get enough respect" team. They are looking to light it up after their tough roadie last week. Arizona St. - verdict is still out on whether they are a contender or a pretender. Let me save you the analysis - pretender.

LOCK OF THE WEEK
Virginia Tech +3 @ UNC. I can't believe I'm betting on the Hokies again and as my lock of the week. But I like them here as a touchdown favorite. But giving them 3 points is too good to pass up. Lay two units on this game.

NCAA Winning Picks

New Season. New chance to make some extra coin. And with the current momentum of B.O., some of us will probably be paying a lot more in taxes next year. So get a head start and make some easy money. Nothing you can do about paying your unfair share of taxes, but you can control the extra cash flow from The Truth's NCAA Winning Picks. Sorry, I digress.

As usual I'll give you a few picks each week that are worth laying one credit, and the Lock of the Week worth 2 credits.

Tennessee -7.5 at UCLA. To be safe buy an extra .5 point to get that spread to 7. Probably won't need it as I think the Vols will run all over UCLA.

Texas -24 at home versus Florida Atlantic. I'd take this pick all the way up to -40.

Clemson -4.5 at home versus Alabama. I also like to over of 46 here if that makes you feel any better.

LOCK OF THE WEEK

USC at Virginia OVER 42.5. I can only assume they forgot this was a four quarter game and not a halftime spread. This one will be ugly. Easy money, so lay three credits instead of the usual 2 credits. You'll thank me on Sunday.

NCAA Football Winning Picks: Week 7

Time for this week's NCAA football picks. We got killed last weekend going 1-4. For the season we are 15-16 and down 131.90 units. So we aren’t giving any analysis this week – just picking games. And no lock of the week this time around. Why tempt fate? Lay 50 units on each game.

Michigan -5.5 at home vs. Purdue.

Miami -2.5 at home vs. Georgia Tech

Alabama -5.5 at Ole Miss

Georgia -7 at Vanderbilt

Tennessee -7 at Mississippi State

NCAA Football Winning Picks: Week 5

Time for this week's NCAA football picks. For the season we are 14-12 and up 72.65 units. We had another rough week 5 going 3-2, but the Penn State game just killed us by laying 150 units on it. Time to get back to basics in Week 6.

Big game this week – OU (-12) vs. Texas. It would have been an even bigger game except that they both dropped turds last week against Colorado and Kansas State. Looks like the Big 12 South isn’t the cream of the crop in that conference after all. At least the Big 12 North is there to carry the conference. As always, first four picks are laying 50 units and the lock of the week is laying 100 units for a change.

Stanford at USC OVER 58.5. A lot of money being placed on the over in Vegas. Follow the money.

Auburn (-7.5) at home vs. Vanderbilt. You say you should never pick against your alma mater? Whatever. Buy a half point to be sure, but you probably don’t need it.

Kansas State (-3) at home vs. Kansas. I’ll be against my other alma mater in this one. You might want to consider the OVER of 55 on this if you don’t think K-State is for real. Ask Texas how real they are.

Wisconsin +110 at Illinois. Take the money line here and get a little extra coin in your pocket by not taking the 2.5 points.

Wisconsin -2.5 at Illinois. Okay, we’ll take the 2.5 points as well. I just can't believe that the team favored to win the Big Ten loses at Illinois. Of course I said the same thing about Penn State last week.

NCAA Football Winning Picks: Week 5

Time for this week's NCAA football picks. For the season we are 12-9 and up 231.75 units. We had a rough week 4 going 2-4, but what do you expect when Syracuse wins on the road as a 30 something point dog. But we’re still up for the year and feeling great about Week 5 games.

Big game this week – Cal at Oregon (-6.5). This spread opened at 4.5 and has moved up 2 points which is curious as only 54% of the “side” money is going on the Ducks. As always, first four picks are laying 50 units and the lock of the week is laying 150 units for a change. Also, to make it interesting, we’re picking all road teams this week.

Cal +6.5 at Oregon. Something’s not right with this line and I could be on the receiving end of it. To be safe, buy that extra half point to push the line to +7. Cal has lost the last two times they’ve played in Eugene, but never by more than 7 points.

Michigan -16.5 at Northwestern. Michigan’s O line and Defense looked back on track last week against a solid Penn State team. If the line moves before you get your pick in, make sure you buy it down to 17 or under.

Oklahoma at Colorado OVER 56. OU averages around 60 points a game. Enough said. Take the over.

Notre Dame -22 at Purdue. Yes, I’m nuts. But something tells me that the Irish might actually score more than one touchdown on offense this week. Purdue has been putting big points on the board this year. Their lowest point total has been 45. But the past two weeks they gave up 22 points to Central Michigan and 31 to Minnesota, so I think the Irish will score enough to cover the spread.

THE I CAN’T BELIEVE THIS SPREAD LOCK OF THE WEEK

Penn State -3 at Illinois. WHAT??? Look, Illinois is much better this year and have had two decent recruiting classes. And yes, Penn State had a disappointing loss last week. But there is no way they are losing to Illinois this week. And for this weeks “I Can’t Believe This Spread Lock Of The Week” lay 3 units instead of the customary 2 on Penn State.

NCAA Football Winning Picks: Week 4

Time for this week's NCAA football picks. For the season we are 10-5 and up 390.85 units – bringing our total units to 690.85. Come on folks, it’s easy money, er, I mean units. Why pay for advice or roll the dice on your own? FTT is giving you sure fire winners each week.

Big game this week – South Carolina at LSU. Team whose fans average the most teeth per fan wins. I kid, I kid. I grew up in Baton Rouge. As always, first four picks are laying 50 units and the lock of the week is laying 100 units (which FTT is a perfect 3-0 on this season). This week, because we like you, FTT Nation, we’re throwing in a bonus pick. And to prove our skills, we’re only taking one home team.

Michigan State -10.5 at Notre Dame. Some interesting things to note here. This line has moved down 2.5 points since it opened at 13. Just as the Nebraska fans drove down the line last week, the Notre Dame fans are doing the same. Thanks suckers. The money line is also interesting. Notre Dame’s line is +325 and people are all over this with 96% of the total wagering on the money line going to ND. That’s a nice payout if the Irish win, but let me throw some numbers at you on why they won’t. In three games so far this year, Notre Dame has averaged: 4 points per game, 34 points allowed per game, and -5 yards rushing. Don’t throw away your money on this team.

Oklahoma -22.5 at Tulsa. This is really a home game for the Sooners as 90% of the crowd will be pulling for OU. Tulsa has nothing and this should be a laugher early on.

Nebraska -22.5 at home vs. Ball State. What do you do after a tough loss at home against USC? You schedule Ball State and beat them by 40.

Penn State -2.5 at Michigan. I’m not sure why everybody thinks Michigan has corrected their problems. They beat up on Notre Dame last week, not LSU. Yes, the Big House is tough to play in as a visiting team. Most years. How is this only a 2.5 spread?

South Carolina at LSU OVER 46. Two top ranked teams battling it out in Death Valley. Typically when 2 top SEC schools meet it’s a low scoring event (unless it’s Florida vs. Tennessee). But LSU’s offense scores at will and I think South Carolina will get a couple TDs.

THE I CAN’T BELIEVE THIS SPREAD LOCK OF THE WEEK
Georgia Tech -3.5 at Virginia. The Jackets rebound from a tough loss to BC last week to take on a Virginia team that barely beat Duke and North Carolina. This one should be over at half time. But if it’s close at halftime, bet the house on Georgia Tech for the second half line.

NCAA Football Winning Picks: Week 3

Time for this week's NCAA football picks. For the season we are 7-3 and up 309.05 units – doubling up in only two weeks. If you’ve been listening to FTT, like you should, you’re playing with house money now. Tips are accepted.

Big game this week – Notre Dame and Michigan. Who gets to start 0-3? FTT will be staying away from this game as there is already a show called “The Biggest Loser.” Oh, and check out the newly launched NDSPN site to read up on everything Irish. As always, first four picks are laying 50 units and the lock of the week is laying 100 units.

Vanderbilt -5 at home over Ole Miss. Major props to the Vandy Athletic Department for scheduling 8 home games versus only 4 road games this season. I guess the kid majoring in Humanities that runs the intramural program knows what he’s doing. Ole Miss played Mizzou tough so Vandy is going to have to put up some points here.

Virginia Tech -17.5 at home over Ohio. Va Tech is coming off a major beat down by LSU in Death Valley. They need to demolish Ohio, and they’ll do so.

Louisville -5.5 at Kentucky. This is going to be a shootout. Don’t believe me? The Over/Under is 77! But in the end, I don’t think the Cats have the D to stay in this one for 4 quarters.

Iowa at Iowa State Over 39.5. I’m not big on either of these two schools this year. But this match up usually puts some points on the board. Can these teams muster 5 TDs and 2 FGs between them? Yes.

LOCK OF THE WEEK

USC -9.5 at Nebraska. This spread is actually going down! I love all the Nebraska suckers out there. NU barely beat Wake Forest (and that’s not the same Wake team as last year) who was using a backup QB. This one won’t be close at all. USC by 3 TDs.

UPDATE: FTT goes 3-2 and nails the Lock of the Week again. Up 81.80 units for the week and 390.85 units for the season.

Time for this weeks NCAA football picks. For the season we are 3-2 and up 81.80 "tokens." Apart from knowing that Michigan and Notre Dame both suck (wow, looking forward to that match up next week. I think it comes on at snooze thirty) the experts here at FTT have learned much from last week’s results. As always, first four picks are laying 50 tokens and the lock of the week is laying 100 tokens.

Rutgers -16 at home over Navy. Rutgers got zero respect in all of the preseason polls and they’re pissed. Time to beat up on another cupcake.

Penn St. -17.5 at home over Notre Dame. Now I have to be honest here, this one scares me. But from what I saw from ND last week, I don’t have any hope for their winning anytime soon. And Claussen will start his first game in front of over 100,000 loud PSU fans. Good luck Jimmy. Make sure you show the Penn State D Line all of those rings you won in high school. I would take the Over here – only 43.5, but I’m not sure if Notre Dame can score.

Georgia -3.5 at home over South Carolina. Look for the Dawgs to hang another loss on the Ol’ Ball Coach. Georgia beat USC 18-0 at USC last year – and they’re even better this year. I like UGA by 10-14 in this one.

Tennessee -10.5 at home over Southern Miss. After the Beatdown in Berkeley last week (the Vols gave up 45 points) look for a quick start from the Vols. Coach Fulmer will want to prime the tanks with Florida and Georgia both coming up in the next three weeks. Tennessee wins this easily.

LOCK OF THE WEEK

Mizzou -6 at Ole Miss. I’m going to keep riding the Mizzou gravy train until the odds makers come to their senses. Mizzou can put up a lot of points – it comes down to their defense. If they can stop the run on Saturday, they’ll win by 2 touchdowns.

RESULTS UPDATE:

4-1 for the weekend, 7-3 for the year. Brings in 227.25 tokens and up 309.05 for the year. Doubles up in two weeks.

College football is upon us. Time to dust off that online sports book account (of course you wouldn't bet real money, that would be illegal) and make some bets this weekend. Here are my 5 college picks of the week:

Virginia Tech -27.5 at home over E. Carolina. This will be an emotional game for the Hokies and a team that has a shot at the BCS will want to pile on some points.

Virginia -3.5 away over Wyoming. I'd be willing to give up to 10 on this game. Thanks Vegas.

Oregon -16 at home over Houston. I'd love this game at -14, but the Ducks should win by 20.

Georgia Tech +1.5 away over Notre Dame. Any coach that goes to the lengths that Weis has over the secrecy of who the quarterback will be spells trouble in my book. Should be a long year for the Domers.

LOCK OF THE WEEK

Mizzou -4.5 in St. Louis on neutral field over Illinois. The Illini are still very young and Mizzou has a solid shot to win the Big 12 North this year.
